The County Engineer interprets and enforces federal,
state, and local laws related to land development and the environment.
He serves as a liaison to federal and state agencies for environmental
affairs. He assists the County with design and construction of capital
projects. He consults with the County Road Department in maintaining and
improving the road system. The County Engineer administers the Land Disturbing
Activity permit program. He administers the Geographic Information System
(GIS) data sales program. The County Engineer conducts inspections to
enforce the following ordinances:
• Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control
• Water Supply Watershed Protection
• River Corridor Protection
• Mountain Protection
• Wetland Protection
• Flood Damage Prevention
• Parks for Recreational Vehicles
• Subdivisions
