Spring Arts, Crafts & Music Festival

May 25 & 26, 2019 • 10:00am – 5:00pm

Blairsville’s Square comes alive Memorial Day Weekend with our annual Spring Arts, Crafts & Music Festival. Featuring local and regional artists and musicians, this two day event is held rain or shine! The weekend begins with a concert at the Old Courthouse on the Square Friday evening, a Memorial Day parade at 10am on Saturday, an outdoor concert on the Square Saturday evening and the continuation of the festival on Sunday. Free and family-friendly!

Blairsville Scottish Festival & Highland Games

June 8 & 9, 2019 •  9:00am – 5:00pm

Residents and visitors look forward to the second weekend in June when Blairsville spotlights the heritage of our area. Discover your “clan” and hang out with the locals and visitors enjoying traditional games, Highland music, dancing and food with a Scottish flair. Watch border collies herd sheep and falcons swoop down on “prey” or check your roots at the Heritage tent. Children can compete in their own Highland games. For the “wee ones”, there’s face painting and train rides. This is one unique festival you just can’t miss!

Saturday, June 29, 2019 Nottely Marina hosts a boat parade at 10:30am and anyone is welcome to participate.

Thursday, July 4, 2019 Vogel State Park has summer fun for the entire family from 8:30am-4pm.

Thursday, July 4, 2019 at dusk the skies over Meeks Park will light up in an explosion of lights and color at dusk.

Thursday, July 4, 2019 the Firehouse in Suches puts on a great celebration and spectacular fireworks show at dusk.

Butternut Creek Festival

July 20 & 21, 2019 • 10:00am – 5:00pm

Celebrate and enjoy the Arts of this Mountain Region! In mid July, exhibitors showcase Fine Arts and Crafts, Woodwork, Oils and Watercolors, Stained and Leaded Glass, Jewelry, and More. Activities also include demonstrations and live entertainment. Come join the fun!

Green Bean Festival

July 27 & 28, 2019 •  10:00am-5:00pm

Appalachian, bluegrass and gospel music. Arts and crafts, demonstrations on spinning, blacksmithing and bowl carving and food.

Mountain Heritage Festival

August 31 & September 1, 2019 •  10:00am-5:00pm

Collections of fine mountain-made products are available at this spectacular event during Labor Day weekend. Don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy the manifestations of the handiwork of local craftsmen and craftswomen.

Indian Summer Festival

October 5 & 6, 2019 •  9:00am-5:00pm

For a truly fantastic experience, plan to attend the Indian Summer Festival the first weekend in October in Suches, Georgia. Activities include a Craft Show, 10K Run, Country Square Dance, Weaponry Demonstration, Auction, Play performed by Elementary Students, & Much More!

Run Above the Clouds

October 5, 2019

The Run Above the Clouds offers 10K and 5K road races over a beautifully scenic,  challenging out-and-back course through the North Georgia mountains. There is also a 1-mile fun run, over a mostly flat course. Proceeds support scholarships for Suches High School graduates and alumni primarily from the Woody Gap School.

Blairsville Sorghum Festival

October 12, 13 & 19, 20, 2019 • 9:00am-5:00pm

Blairsville’s longest running festival celebrates the ancient art of cooking sweet syrup from Sorghum Cane. Visitors enjoy sorghum syrup making demonstrations in addition to contests such as “Biskit” Eatin’, Pole Climbin’, Log Sawin’, Rock Throwin’, and Horseshoe Throwin’.  Join us the 2nd & 3rd weekends in October.

Kris Kringle Market

December 7, 2019 • 10:00am – 3:00pm

At the Union County Farmers Market. Enjoy over 75 vendors, handcrafted items by local artisans, produce, plants, baked goods and more!  Kids can visit with Santa and ride the Christmas Train. Free Entertainment.

Christmas On the Square & Parade

Pictures with Santa at the Historic Courthouse from 4pm-6pm. Evening Christmas Parade to start at 6pm, tree lighting & caroling following the parade.
