Commissioner’s Office
The Sole Commissioner is the governing authority of the county


Elections & Voter Registration

The Board of Elections is responsible to prepare all election materials, including the certification of qualified individuals, ballot preparation and the actual conduction of elections and certification of results

The Board of Registrars is responsible for the safekeeping of all registration records for Union County including adding/removing voters, early and absentee voting


Sheriff’s Office
The Union County Sheriff’s Office is a full service law enforcement agency that provides: twenty-four hour Uniform Patrol, School Resource Officers, Criminal Investigations, S.E.R.T. Team, Warrant Service Unit, Civil Process Service, Courthouse Security, and Inmate Work Details


Tax Commissioner
The mission of the Tax Commissioner’s Office is to bill, collect, and disburse all taxes as prescribed by the laws of the State of Georgia and to act as the Motor Vehicle tag and title agent for the State

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING - AGENDA

A Public Hearing will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at 5:00pm in the Union County Courthouse, 65 Courthouse Street, Blairsville, Georgia.

The purpose of this hearing will be for Union County to provide information and answer questions regarding the proposed revisions of the Union County Code of Ordinances pertaining to Chapter 10, Article III, Section
10-80 addressing Temporary Special Event Licenses for the sale of alcohol, Chapter 38, Article III, Section 38-51 addressing Tattoo and Body Piercing Establishments and the proposed Commercial Firing Range Facilities Ordinance.

At the County Meeting scheduled for October 19, 2023 at 6:00pm, Union County Government will be adopting the proposed Ordinance for Cryptocurrency and Data Mining.

The final draft of this Ordinance will be available on the website and hard copies will be available in the Union County Commissioner’s Office and with the Union County Clerk of Superior Court on
Wednesday, September 20, 2023.

The following meetings have been held in relation to this ordinance:

1st Reading – June 15, 2023
Public Hearing – July 20, 2023
2nd Reading – August 22, 2023
