Posted October 28, 2023 – ELECTRONIC RECYCLING & DOCUMENT DESTRUCTION EVENT
HELD AT UNION COUNTY SPORTS CENTER.

Document/Electronics Destruction Days are held in Union County to remind Union County residents that they can dispose of their old, but sensitive, documents and old electronics at the Main Union County Transfer and Recycling Station located at 348 Transfer Station Lane (off Deep South Farm Rd.) 1/4 mile behind Union General Hospital. These services are provided by the Union County Government through SPLOST.

Document destruction is performed by Document Destruction Services, Inc., out of Gainesville, GA, so the Main Union County Transfer and Recycling Station is a collection site for sensitive documents at this time. However, plans are in the works for Union County to acquire the equipment to destroy sensitive documents on-site.

Regarding electronics destruction, most all electronics EXCEPT TUBE TVs are accepted free of charge. There is a $20 fee for tube tvs up to 700 pounds and they are collected on the commercial side of the main transfer station.

WE ARE HOPING TO OFFER THE SERVICE TWICE ANNUALLY BEGINNING IN 2024!!!!  Stay tuned for future dates.
